How to buy an AITO from China

Start with the model and destination, not just an advertised price. Include your preferred year, powertrain, trim, seating, colour and quantity. A sourcing quotation should identify the proposed vehicle and list the services you have agreed. Check destination requirements before confirming procurement.

AITO export prices: what to compare

Compare quotations for the same model year, trim and options. A China suggested retail price does not include an agreed export scope. Ask which currency, quotation validity, collection point and transport arrangements apply. Freight, insurance, destination taxes and registration must not be assumed to be included.

Electric or range extended: which AITO?

A battery-electric vehicle depends on charging. A range-extended electric vehicle also carries a combustion engine used to generate electricity. Compare your regular routes, charging access and local requirements. Do not compare combined fuel-and-battery range directly with the battery-only range of an EV.

Using a China-market AITO overseas

Before purchase, make a written checklist for the destination: import eligibility, registration documents, charging, language, connected services, map coverage and after-sales support. Manufacturer feature descriptions for China do not confirm availability elsewhere. Ask for evidence for the exact vehicle and software version.

Charging compatibility before export

Check the physical connector, AC and DC charging standards, voltage and supported charging communication for the exact vehicle. Ask whether your intended charging sites support it. A physical adapter alone does not establish electrical or software compatibility; any proposed conversion needs specific confirmation.

Language, apps and connected features

Ask for current evidence of the interface language, phone pairing, account setup, SIM or network requirements and map support. Online services and driver-assistance features can depend on region, account and software version. Do not assume full overseas support or future updates from a China-market demonstration.

Parts, servicing and after-sales questions

Confirm who will provide servicing, diagnostics and parts in your destination before ordering. Ask for any warranty terms in writing, including provider, coverage, exclusions and claim process. A manufacturer warranty in China should not be treated as an overseas warranty. Confirm parts availability and pricing for each request.

One vehicle or a dealer order

Individuals and dealers may enquire about one vehicle, subject to model and destination restrictions. For a dealer order, provide a model-and-trim list, quantities and destination. A mixed order should identify each vehicle separately. Availability, payment and handover milestones are agreed for the actual order, not promised by the website.
