At a glance

Compare the M8 and M9 using your passengers, exact versions, equipment priorities and export budget instead of mixing headline specifications.

Start with two actual versions, not two model names

A useful M8 versus M9 comparison needs a version on each side: model year, EV or EREV, seating and equipment grade. Otherwise you may compare an entry version’s price with another version’s best range or cabin features. Select the two cars in our comparison tool and keep their source references. Treat manufacturer figures as configuration-specific, not universal model promises.

Which cabin fits your regular passengers?

Write down the number of adults and children who travel together and how often every row is occupied. Compare access to the rear seats, luggage with those seats in use and the individual comfort features you require. Use the interior galleries and 3D scenes to understand layouts, then request actual-vehicle evidence. A display of a premium cabin does not establish the equipment of the quotation.

Check parking and everyday manoeuvring

Compare the dimensions of the exact vehicles with your garage, parking entrance and usual streets. If the M9 offer is for Ultimate, identify that version explicitly rather than borrowing dimensions from a different M9. Evaluate wheels, suspension and turning-related features from the quoted equipment list. Do not assume a feature shown in a model film is installed on both selected cars.

Use the same basis for range and charging

If comparing EVs, look at battery-only range, cycle, battery and applicable charging conditions. If comparing EREVs, separate electric-only range from the fuel-and-battery total. Consider the charging sites you will actually use and the extra service requirements of a range extender. A mixed-powertrain comparison can be helpful, but the different range definitions must stay visible.

Identify what the additional spend would buy

List your non-negotiable features before looking at optional upgrades: seating, cabin equipment, charging requirements and comfort or assistance hardware. Then ask the supplier to explain the price gap line by line for the two proposed configurations. Check the full export scope and destination costs on the same basis. A higher China reference price alone does not prove that the more expensive version is more suitable for you.

Ask for a side-by-side sourcing offer

Send the M8 and M9 version names, seating, colours, quantity and destination together. Mark which details are essential and which can change to meet your budget. Request two dated offers with the same agreed inspection and transport scope. Check overseas software and service arrangements independently. Choose after reviewing these differences; neither a comparison table nor an enquiry confirms stock, local registration or delivery timing.
